THE INEXPLICABLE, INEXPOUNDABLE, INCOMPARABLE LOVE
Let us start this column by stating “The Grace” 2Cor. 13:14, ‘The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, THE LOVE OF GOD…’. The major phrase for emphasis is, THE LOVE OF GOD,
THEN, WHAT IS THAT LOVE OF GOD?
The Love of God is an embodiment of Himself in our heart, of which we should jealously guide and not exchange for anything, for us to learn of Him, and understand His mysteries. God’s Love in man is mandated by Him. The Love of God gives grace, favour, anointing, protection, provision and other good things in order to be a success spiritually and in the physical.
“If not for the Love of God, we would have been consumed.” Permit me to cast your mind back to the book of Genesis and the account of Noah, Scriptures says, …”God saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become, that every inclination of the thought of his heart was only evil all the time.” Gen. 6 NIV
The creation of man started in Chapter 1 and evolves round but let us top at Chapter 6 of the same book, we will see that within that space, man’s heart according to the Scriptures became so wicked and full of evil which made God so grieved, (that He looked upon the earth He has created and was so filled with pains in His Heart).
Carefully take your time to read that whole chapter of the bible, in verses 7, it states that, “The Lord said, I will WIPE OUT mankind…, all of them”, but out of His infinite, inexplicable love, He still favours Noah, keeping him and his families to start the programme of multiplication once again.
I said earlier that the Love of God is an embodiment of Himself; with Noah and his descendant, the earth became populated once again with several religions, clans, traditions and others. Even after God has wipe man off the earth, he saw how bad it was and promised , giving a verdict that He won't destroy the earth any longer with water.
This didn’t last long before humans started evolving again, the heart of man became so rigid and rebellion crippled in once again. Now God in His inexplicable, incomparable and inexpoundable Love remembered His verdict that He won’t destroy the earth any longer. He had compassion on man and decided to send His only Son who is known as Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was sent to reconcile us back, to save us and bring us to the knowledge of God. 1John 5:20 says, “And we know that the Son of God is come and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true…”
Within the context of this column, we are going to center the Love of God on the gift of Jesus to Humanity. Rom. 8:39 “…nothing can separate us from the Love of God, which is in Christ Jesus”. Now let me show you one interesting thing I found in this verse. Before the arrival of Jesus in the New Testament, God has shown different kinds of compassion through His love to man. Now we get to the new statement and we see something a little bit different in the book of Romans, it says “…from THE LOVE OF GOD, … .” In this context, there may have been several kinds of love to man, but now we are having “THE” Love, this symbolizes a DEFINITE love of God , which is Jesus Christ. With Him(Jesus), you don’t need to look for any other kinds of love, He encapsulates other kinds of Love. With THE LOVE, we are no more after a love, which is indefinite. God’s Love is definite in us and it has been shed abroad in our heart by the Holy Ghost.
There is someone reading this and is assuming, checking within himself whether he has the Love of God, whether God loves him, the big question here today is have you THE LOVE OF GOD, which is Jesus Christ? Jesus told His disciples, “No man cometh to the Father, except through me.”
The gift of this Jesus is the greatest love ever! Scriptures says, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friend,” just imagine someone who had laid down his life for yours, even before you were formed in the womb for a safer life and a beautiful life on earth, won’t you want to know more details about that man? Won’t you want to embrace his beliefs?
Now the Spirit of God has shed the Love of God abroad in our heart, He has given us Jesus so that we won’t become slaves to fear and timidity, also with the Love of God in our heart we automatically love everyone regardless of their status. Now we can’t claim to love God and hate our colleagues, that equation is not complete, Scriptures says, “if you say you love God and hate your brother, you need to go back to evaluate the love you claim to have” John completed that chapter of 2 John chapter 4 by saying “He who can’t love his brother that he do see, how much God, that can’t be seen.”
Prior to the acceptance of Jesus in a man’s life, we found out that his heart was rigid, stocked, piled up with ungodly things and also stony. Immediately that Love of God comes in, it makes you experience another dimension of Love, the Scriptures says, 2Cor. 5:17 “therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Earlier, I pointed out that the Love of God is the Motherboard of all other kinds of love, a kind of love that the King James Version referred to as “CHARITY”. Now this Charity (Love) is meant to be the number one Fruit of the Spirit, Scriptures says without it so many gifts will have no use and value. 1Cor. 13:1-3
Very Interesting thing is that from verse 4, we can see the dos and don’ts of Love. What love has and want you don't find in this love too.
THE DOs
Love is Patient Love is Kind
Love Protects Love Trusts
Love always Hopes Love Perseveres
Love rejoices in Truth
THE DON'Ts
Love does not Envy Love is not Rude
Love does not Boast Love is not Self-seeking
Love is not Proud Love is not easily angered
Love keeps no record of wrongs Love does not delight in evil
Love never fails
Now, don’t let us forget that this charity cannot be isolated from the Love of God (Jesus), the first process is for you to invite the Love, get born again and be filled with the Spirit and being filled with the Spirit will bring the Fruit.
The reason why 1Corinthians emphasized on this love is not far-fetched based on what Jesus told his disciple when they asked Him, “which is the greatest of all commandment sir” Master Jesus told them according to Matt. 22:
Love the Lord your God…
Love your neighbor as yourself
Finally, Premised on these two commandments are other commandments. Do you tell someone the Loves all, not to kill? Do you tell someone that genuinely loves his God, not to worship any other gods or to call his God’s Name in vain? The answer to these questions is NO. Our major verse is, “Let the Love of God (Jesus) be shed abroad in our heart through the Holy Spirit. To love anyone unconditionally, to live a life without hate, fear and timidity, you will need to accept THE LOVE OF GOD Himself.
Note, with all these, we can deduce that the Love of God is not an abstract thing; it is an experiential, real and visible thing. I want you to seek and crave for that Love of God, and don’t wait till tomorrow, it could be too late. You can go on your knees and tell Jesus to come snatch you and bring you to Him. Tell him you want to possess charity completely and experience the sweet God life, He is ready to hear you and accept you. Trust me a new orchestrated life of God is on your way. It's going to be splendid and burden free. He will carry your burden and gives you rest. I didn't say that, He did, Jesus did.
Thank you and God bless.
